Isaac Newton’s Law says what goes up must come down and even though he was talking about gravity I think that law bares some weight in the emotion department as well.  My last post I was on top of the world, felt like stars were lining up, and I was doing a good job keeping my eyes looking straight ahead .. today not so much.  It’s not that I’m a wreck or in some dark place .. it’s not that at all .. today I am just being forced to turn around and look behind me and I’m not liking the way that feels. more…

I can’t believe it’s already been nearly a month since my last post.  I know my life has sorta been a whirlwind lately  but it didn’t seem to go by that quickly.  Life has been good to me in the last month.  I finished my book and made my word count by the last day of May, I started dating again … and oh my god .. will those circus dates makes some awesome blog posts down the road when I have some free time.  People in my past are having changes of heart, my son is turning in to a chatter box and I love it, really … I have absolutely no complaints about my life right now.  I’m happy .. really and truly happy .. but the best part is the person making me happy is me .. and I love that!  The last twelve months have been an unspeakable journey and somehow I came out on top, it wasn’t always easy but I did it and that’s all that matters.

I’ve decided to write another book, however this one I won’t keep for just me.  I won’t be writing this one in a month … it will be a lot longer .. better written .. and less about the word count than the message it brings.  I have given this a lot of thought and have decided to post the chapters here as they are developed.  If you’ve followed my blog for longer then a day then you already know bits and pieces of this story … and now you’ll get all the missing tid bits that tied it all together .. but more importantly … you finally get to know how it ends.

The book is titled: “If you squint“ and you should expect chapter 1 soon.

This morning I awoke to the aroma of sausage and pancakes and the sounds of Sports Center and it made me giggle.  It’s been quite some time since I’ve heard that … that unmistakable ‘there’s a man in the house’ that comes with it and as much as there was a point in time when that sound drove me crazy … this morning … it made me smile.

The man in my kitchen happily listening to his show with one ear while the rest of his attention focused on my breakfast is not someone I’ve known for very long but he is someone that so far … has mastered how to keep a smile on my face.  I don’t think I’ve stopped laughing since he became a part of my life and I adore that.  I love his kindness … his consideration … his carefree live life in the moment attitude … makes for some really great company.  He’s one of those rare people who live as though … you only get one life .. why not make the best of it.  I adore his attitude and I find his happiness contagious and am finding myself so taken aback by how comfortable I am in the familiar …

It’s kind of ironic but one of my favorite memories of my sister that always makes me giggle is a time when she was in pain … sorta. more…
